Everyone struggles with the challenges of life, and everyone can use some help to get through a difficult period. Challenging times can be scary and overwhelming, but they can also present an opportunity for growth and positive change when managed with the right support.
In my practice, I work collaboratively with teens and adult individuals to help identify and solve problems that get in the way of achieving life aspirations. The goal of therapy is to empower people to live richer and more satisfying lives.
My style as a psychologist is supportive, collaborative, and interactive. I use a compassionate approach when helping people make changes in their lives. Through our work together, clients develop new tools for engaging with the world — tools that improve their lives and bring about greater satisfaction and happiness.
Free Consultation
I know that choosing a therapist is a personal experience. I offer a free half-hour phone consultation so that I can answer any questions you may have about my background, therapy style, and therapy in general.
A sliding scale is available for clients with financial difficulties.
Therapy for Adult Individuals
I provide therapy for adult individuals that is collaborative and interactive. In the first few sessions I will get an understanding of your reasons for seeking therapy, gather relevant personal history, and discuss your current experiences. Together we will begin to identify what kind of changes you would like to see happen.
We can look at the behaviors, thoughts, and feelings that might be preventing you from enjoying life. Together we will develop a plan, set goals, and discover ways for you to create positive growth and change in order to achieve the personal success you desire.
I draw from a variety of therapeutic techniques including family systems, cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, psychodynamic, and behavioral approaches. I provide both short-term, solution-oriented therapy as well as long-term therapy, depending on the issues and needs each individual brings to our sessions.

Therapy for Teens
For adolescents and parents of adolescents, finding a therapist who works well with teens and who has extensive experience with the particular challenges teens face can be difficult. I have over 25 years of experience working with teenagers — from high school and college campuses to clinic settings and private practice.
In my work with teenagers I use a supportive and interactive approach. I combine therapeutic techniques that help teens develop the coping skills needed to manage their issues in a constructive and healthy manner. I help teens develop an understanding of the different causes and effective treatments for their particular issue — providing psychological education, teaching skills to manage negative thoughts and feelings, and helping teens gain insight into their strengths and weaknesses.
I can also help guide parents who are struggling with raising a teenager toward a more positive and loving parent-adolescent relationship.
